2014 Sweden

From the naval town of Frederikshavn of Denmark, crossing beautiful Kattegat by ferry to Sweden's largest port city, Gothenburg. Our Aussie tour-mate Linda, poked her head in. I just got invited to join a party... oops, looks like a cleaning party... Stortorget (Big Square), with Gothenburg city's founder King Gustavus Adolphus. The main harbor canal, Gothenburg. Glad to say hello to my good friend... Just making sure they recognize me... Two moose friends at Jonkoping, by the southern end of Lake Vattern. I might just blow up....
I can breathe again... Stockholm City Hall garden park (Stadshusparken) I'm going to climb the pole right after this picture... Let's go to play hide and seek here.... Let's wait till dusk.... it will be more interesting... It's hard to see this as a city hall... I would bet it is an academic insitution... a university... One can visualize the students sitting around or lying down on the grass during class break... Well, no students would want to go back to classes with such a nice view.... let's change it back to a city hall then.. Rubbing the little boy's head and leave money for good luck... well, I think I'm going to set up a few more tables here...
Martin Trotzigs Grand, a 130 ft alley stairway with 36 steps... See how wide it is... Yeak, Stockholm Ghost Walk... A leisurely stroll inside King's Garden. The fountain pond, inside King's Garden. A beautiful day to do sightseeing on a boat, or just walk around... I can fly... Checking out Viking ships... Vasa Museum. Ship inspection, but no sailing on it... That's a nice smaller replica... 1:10 scale
"Only" took more than 12,000 hours to build... I'm going to lug this home and place it at the foyer... impressive, isn't it? Nordic Museum, adjacent to the Vasa Museum. I think more people coming to see the Vasa Museum than the Nordic Museum, which is dedicated to ethnography and cultural history from the 16th century to present. Gripsholm Castle, Mariefred Grisholm Castle, also known as Gustav Vasa's Castle. My castle... Hmm... She got a couple Russian cannons from the end of the 16th century. So don't mess around with her... The bridge over the moat does not come up... the chains are just too small...
A sunny but cool summer day outside the castle. No photos allowed inside... too bad. Mariefred, a small quiet town. Gripsholm Castle, Lake Malaren. A beautiful day to check out this castle, just need to double check the bank account first... Just checked.... Hmm... not enough to even make a hold deposit... May be we could consider Sweden's oldest inn, Skanken Restaurant... Or just scale down to a small yacht... I think I can... I think I can... KarlstadTown Square.
The broken sword is a bit of a stretch, isn't it? We like the plant holders, neat... She's Sola... I'm S... got it? Stadshotellet, a hotel built on the former ground of the cathedral burned down in the 1719 fire. Located by the riverside in the city center, smart business for both sides... This is so funny... got it?
